Mrs Jones The News thinks this is the funniest thing I’ve done. My boss described it as “haberdashery porn”. We did a story at BBC Somerset about how the Mothers’ Union had been knitting woollen breasts for the NHS in Somerset to show mothers how to express milk. I met the South Somerset Infant Feeding Specialist Lousie Stickland, who showed me how to express milk from a wooly breast. She starts by describing what the woollen breasts look like…

I’ve been working for the BBC recently on a project looking at the effect of the recession on public spending in Somerset.
Here are two stories I write for the BBC web site, an overview of the recent budget round in Somerset County Council and Bath and North East Somerset, and a specific story based on changes to funding in care.
The project culminated in a half-hour programme about how local authorities were preparing to make the cuts.
